The current set of UK benefits feels like it caters to a North American work culture. It's a bizarre set of benefits to offer such poor annual leave and sick leave policy, but offer a (very comprehensive) private medical insurance in a country with a good health service.ġPassword needs a more UK-centric voice on the HR team, or to talk more to UK folks to understand what's important. In addition to those discretionary paid days off we get bank holidays, but it would offer much more flexibility to add those bank holidays to the annual leave allowance. This is very uncompetitive and doesn't encourage a good work-life balance. Salary is good, but the time off is not, with only 25 discretionary paid days off INCLUDING sick leave. I think they've pitched the benefits very poorly for UK employees. As a long-term fan of 1Password long before I joined the company it's really rewarding to work on a product that you love. Everyone cares deeply about the user experience. Salary is good for the UK and private healthcare and dental plans are available, as well as a workplace pension that offers a huge choice of investment funds.įinally, the product itself is fantastic. Day-to-day there is huge flexibility in when you work, so the remote culture and asynchronous communication is baked in pretty well. These have transitioned to virtual gatherings during COVID, but there seems to be a desire to return to that in the future. Many people (including me) started in support and moved into other areas that were interesting to them.īeing fully remote is great (if that's what you're looking for) and we had an annual company-wide conference pre-COVID to help socialise too. You really can bring your true self to work! People are incredibly supportive and nurturing, and this leads to many opportunities to grow. The people at 1Password are supportive and caring.
